Lifehouse - No Name Face

Hey
Bit of a long shot but does anyone hear happen to know anything about the making of this 2001 record? It's probably my favourite album but I know nothing about how it was made, other than bits of it were recorded at Ocean Way and it was produced by Ron Aniello (who's done quite a few of my favourite albums actually...).
To me it's the perfect blend of natural and produced sound, with some great guitar tones especially.
Anyone know anything about the tracking of it at all? Or any guesses?

I worked with Brendan as a mix assistant on the record. It was all on tape for the mix. No Protools. Mixed on a SSL 4k down to 456 1/2". Don't know much about the tracking. I remember the tracks all sounding really good.

I've heard rumors of a holy grail pedal being used for mixing.

No Holy Grail. Not sure if those were out in 2000??? We didn't have one at Southern Tracks.

Ah wow, good to hear from someone who worked on it! It sounds very analogue so I'm happy to hear that. The newest Lifehouse records sound ridiculously digital, and plugins are all over the place *cough*autotune*cough*
I don't know why, Jason seems to be an insanely good singer.

One thing I love about the record is it seems a lot more open than others around at the same time, although there's quite a lot going on in terms of guitar parts. It's also very dry, but everything seems to have a really good sense of space.

Not sure if they were or not, I said rumor because I wasn't there but, I did hear it from a band member. Could have been Stanley Climbfall not sure
