Recording & Editing / Software & Hardware

I am currently trying to find options other than Digidesign hardware & ProTools software that allows me to do the same thing i.e. record & edit music. Are there any other companies that provide both the hardware & software???
I am new to this game & any input would be appreciated. Thanx people.

Hey, I see you're from Aus - welcome to gearslutz!

Ok regarding your question, Digidesign Pro Tools is the only software you and required to have its
hardware interface (i.e digi 002).

There are plenty of other options regarding software which you are able to pick the
interface of your choice such as: Nuendo, Logic Pro, Digital Performer, Cubase, Sonar.

Since you're in aus i recommend you head over to www.awave.com.au and check
out their list of interfaces ( i.e firewire, pci, usb)

have fun with your gear purchasing.

beck.
