Parallel Compression ITB in SX 1

Hi - Anybody know the best way to get Parallel Comp in Cubase Sx1 - I know I could put a compressor on a send and do it that way but I want to chain stuff together, EQ, Comp, saturation ect. Any Ideas ?

Cheers

Man it's been such a long time since I used cubase or nuendo.

I can tell you how I do it in Pro Tools. I assign the outputs of the drum tracks (usually the close mics) to a stereo bus. I then create two aux tracks and assign both of them to have the same input as the output bus of the drums. Voila. one clean and one smashed.

OR...You could always do a bounce of a premixed stereo drum track and then reimport the bounce smash that...and then mix it in with your other drum tracks.

Hope that was helpful in some way.

Just make a copy of the track, apply the processing to the copied track. Adjust the volume of the two tracks as you see fit. This is not the traditional way to do it, but DAWs allow us to change signal flow in ways that may be more convenient, and this is the way I like to do it. I want things laid out clearly in front of me, and DAWs tend to visually hide some things as compared to consoles (due to small screens) - sends being one of them.

I also just bought PSP products including Mastercomp, Vintage Warmer and Mixpressor that allow you to mix the original and processed signal via a mix knob. I haven't actually used that feature yet, but that's not much use to you, I suppose, since it wouldn't allow you to add the extra processing that you want.
