Thread Starter | The listening sessions #10 with the neve portico
Just curious if anyone has checked out these files. I've read a lot of people on the board not like that new neve portico but I got to tell you that from these samples, I think the portico wins everytime, which I understand could just be my taste...So I want to see from the session what you like/dislike about each or any of the pre's...The neve always stands out has having more color and jumps out in the higher frequences while the great river seems more duller to me...especially on the acoustic guitar and electric guitar tracks...I think the API is close though to the portico...There's something "grainy" I really like about the portico...Let me know what you think of these samples.. http://www.thelisteningsessions.com/session10.htm My top 3 1. Portico 48 dB 2. API 3124 3.Great River Theres some hiss going on with one of the seabatron tracks so I cant really judge that... |

My favorite was the Portico +36. I'm amazed at how much of a difference there was. The TLII on ac gtr never sounded so good. -R |
