| good idea/bad idea?? here we have a snake...with returns... it wouldn't be very practical for me to run a speaker cable from the control room to the live room....would it be a bad idea to run the output of a guitar head into the snake, then from the snake into the cabinet?? or should i just run the guitar into the snake, then from the snake into the head, in the live room... i'd rather have it be near me...for adjusting, obviously |

| Both ways have problems. Is there a way to use a pre-amp and put the amp in the room? The output of a guitar is very sesnsitive to cable capacitance, inductance, and resistance - a long run could significantly change the sound. The speaker output is sensitive to resistance - and snakes typically don't have low resistance. -tINY |

| And you don't want to run spkr level thru shielded cable, let alone small guage wire

| Lives for gear | Why not just push a long speaker cable through the same conduit? This is what I did- so I can have the heads in my control room and the cabs in the live room.

| You want HEAVY duty cable for the head to cab connection.. this isnt usually provided in XLR snakes... ![]()
