Upping my channel/ converter count

Currently have a Lucid 88192 with my digidesign 002 interface on ProTools 8.

Have 8 channels via ADAT from the Lucid, but my desk (Cadac) can take a lot more.

The problem with using the Digi002 is the time / latency / phase difference between that and the Lucid, and obviously the sonic quality is nowhere near that of the Lucid.

What might be the cheapest most efficient way of getting up to 12-16 analogue channels out? Selling Lucid and getting another device? Some way of syncing digi002 to Lucid better?

I can't really afford to go to the cost of a lynx or equivalent at the moment. But I could afford an extra £500 on top of selling the Lucid?

How would you guys settle this?
Cheers

Is there perhaps a way of utilising AES to increase my outputtage on this current set up?

Really want 16 channels of outputs!

can we assume you're using an old version of pro tools, and that is keeping you from upgrading your 002?

What's upgrading my 02 when it's at home?
Still curious as to quality 16 channel conversion.. At a budget (I guess)
Or adding to my lucid to make 8 in to 16.
Cheers!
