Snare replacement.

Hi there. Very pleased with our mixes from our small studio lately. But one thing always stands out. When comparing our mixes to modern commercial releases the snare is always huge in the commercial releases. Is it just common practice to drumagog a big fat snare in these days? Im talking indie/rock stuff here. Thanks.

Seems to be.... (I do it sometimes when mixing from material previously recorded by someone else, especially when it's mostly hi-hat bleed on a mediocre snare track )
