Whats a good mic pre for direct line in guitar

Okay I have an XLR cable going from my Amp Head to a mic pre. or rather instrument pre I guess. I am wondering what out there in the 500 series world would make a good pre for this application? I've used Avedis and API but I really want Neve. Any thoughts?

will the DI handle both active and passive instruments equally?

It has Dual Impedance Mic and Hi-Z inputs (Mic: 2K, 500O,Hi-Z: 2.2M, 47KO) so yes

I've been using the Chandler Germanium for all of my di bass and guitar since I bought it. I think they make a 500 series one as well. The bass tone is very thick and deep and you can balance the gains for either a very clean or a very warm guitar di.

The DI in my Phoenix Audio drs-1 has a great tone. I now use it over all my radial boxes (ran through some serious pres as well)
