yes i do. since 1 week. i had the behringer V-AMP 2 for one year now and the day when i got the tonelab it was like a big ease after a huge meal of beans last day i love the tonelab very much. its way better than behringer. didnīt ever compare it to POD but as i can remember when i compared it last year to the behringer it was a bit better but no life too and quite muddy highs. nothing for me. but the tonelab is way better. not really like a real amp but really good. the recto sound could be some more punchy and in your face. the uk and us amp modells are very nice. and the VOX clean sounds are warm and soft as you would expect it. itīs really amazing if you hit any power chord on an down-pitched LP and listen how much complex things happen to the sound. THATS a simulation very close to the original. and as long as i canīt afford to bother my neighbors and canīt afford a lot of real amps i dont care for the loss of 10% of possible sound quality. for now ... the tonelab provides 16 amp modells, you certainly know allready. the cab modells include simulation of slope, z curve, box size and resonanz (depend. on wood and thickness of the box). sounds great and itīs really a difference if you switch from one cab to another. there are 4 FX sections. pedal: the comp, acoustic, octave, both ODs and FUZZ suck!!! the others are OK but U-VIBE and treble boost and the WAHs are GREAT!!! i love the U-VIBE. thats incredible!!! especially on all VOX amp modells!!! modulation: their all ok but not as edgy as real petals from boss or electro harmonix (small stone/clone). the rotary is nice (stereo). delay: the delays are ok if used slightly. tape delay with high feedback is crapgrudge . roland RE-201 rulez. you can tap the speed for dealy: cool!!! reverb: ok if used slightly, best if you donīt use at all tone and gain knobs: the tonlab has three pots for tone. it depends on the amp modell which knob is assigned to witch function as every real amp has got different numbers of tone pots. like the fender (deluxe 1x12 i guess) has only one tone knob. if you want the real sound, leave the other knobs to middle position, but you can pinch a bit to change sounds anyway. the coolest feature IMHO are the two knobs for gain and VR gain. this means: gain is the gain for the preamp and VR (valve reactor) gain is the gain for the output stage. if you turn both left the box is quiet. if you turn only one to right the box is still quiet. if you turn both you can ajust how much distortion/overdrive/fuzz/whatever the input and output stage should have and that sounds really PHAAAAAATTTTTTTT!!! for output distortion they use the 12AX7 (ECC83). at least there is a knob for total volume on top of the box, one level ajustment knob on rear side and one switch for amp/line. after working with it for one week the only thing i can say is i will NEVER give it away anymore unless i earnd the money for 16 original amps and 16 original cabs. conclusion: tonelabīs the best, **** the rest!

I know exactly what you're going through. I returned my Pod XT after a couple days because I could not get anything to poke through a mix no matter how much I tweaked. The straw that broke the camels back was when I a/b'd the XT to the 2.0 (definitely not an improvement). Everything in that box sounds six feet away. I have a feeling they screwed things with the mic models. So, I ended up with the Vox tonelab. It's not perfect, but surely an improvement over the POD XT. The direct sound is pretty good, but not great. However, what works best is to send it to a low-wattage guitar amp/poweramp. I was shocked at how close I could get to my '64 AC-30. Oh, and the effects in the tonelab are fantastic!

last nite i plugged the tonelab into an JMP (donīt know which one exactly, but i guess it was a JMP-45 cause there were only two switches on the left side) and a old 4x12 marshall cab. man, this was great. ok kill me for playing recto sounds through this rig but anyway: that was fantastic. great sound and any kind of sound you whish. wide distorted sound at moderate level. the drummer girls was excited too i think this was the best purchase since my urei 1178 and will stay best until iīll get the distressor
