history of audio question

Hey all,

Just been reading the thread on the 60's recordings and Beatles stuff.
Very interested in this and was wondering if anyone knows any good websites or books explaining the historically important events of the audio world that got us where we are today!

cheers to anyone who can help

This may not totally be what you are looking for
but I found it very interesting and pretty cool.

It is a DVD on Tom Dowd. Very cool stuff.
Hope that helps.

My life recording the beatles by geoff emerick. Its not highly informative in the technical side of recording, its more of a story about recording rather than a technical documentation, but I really enjoyed the book. Oh, and that tom dowd video is great!

Beatles info

This is a new book coming out next month. It looks amazing, BTW the Tommy Dowd DVD is a must in addition to some of the classic albums DVDs (ie The Dark Side of the Moon). I hope that amazon link works for ya! If not just search for "The Dark Side of the Moon" in DVDs. Good Luck.

zubdub, I have a few of those classic album DVD's and I love them all.
The Queen one is really good too, along with the Nirvana one, and
the Stevie Wonder one, oh what the hell, just get them all!
