Thread Starter | Wurlitzer 200A repair in Los Angeles?
FINALLY! After craving for years, I got a wurlitzer 200a, and in pretty good shape. I know Ken Rich is the "guy", but I was wondering if anyone has had anyone else work on their wurlis? Like any key players or piano tuners that you know of? BTW, I don't need any electronic work on it. Signal is strong and noise is minimal. I mainly want to improve the action/playbility of the thing. There's also 1 note that's pretty out, but everything else is fine. Thanks Danny |

We had Ken repair our Wurlitzer 140B. This thing had been sitting in the garage for 20 years, had no sustain pedal and a few of the keys were broken. Ken restored it beautifully. And he made a custom sustain pedal. This thing sounds amazing and looks wonderful. I recommend Ken.

and how about in NYC ? i have had a funny chopshop wurli for a few years and it needs some love, at least 4 or 5 keys are pretty out and it suffers from the typical old cranky wurli sounds. any wurli wizards in the northeast? - b EDIT - found this other thread with more answers... Anybody know any good Wurlitzer repair places? i missed it on my first search, i guess i tried 'wurlitzer' when i should have tried 'wurli'. ha. |

There's a guy in LA on Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywierd, down near Western Ave on the south side of the street that fixed a jack, replaced 3 tines and tuned my Wurli for $100 about 4 years ago. I'm forgetting his name but he was a righteous brother. I'll try to dig up his info. As far as New York, I too want to find someone local. I gather 2 Lines music has bitten the dust and Rogue music are about the biggest criminals I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
