I didn't find any lamp info in a quick peek through my 3036 service info. Who manufactured the switches?

yah, it doesnt say much in detail about the bulb in the engineering drawings. when i got the console commissioned, the tech said that the pots and switches are the same on an ssl. i atached some pics of the switch and bulb. the bulb says ebt on one side and 24v 50ma on the other. the switch says 01-151-025 swiss made EAO lamp max. 60v/1.2w

You could contact EAO directly.

http://www.eaoswitch.com/index.html

Now this looks familiar. Looks like you will need to physically measure that lamp to see what "T" type it is and go from there.

AHA! An EAO 01 series. That lamp has what is called a "telephone slide base". Check the physical dimensions, but Mouser has some:

it's possible and probably worth it in the long run. I remember paying STUPID prices for MCI, Trident and SSL bulbs in the 80's. Always toyed with the idea of mod'ing them for LED use... never did it though.

it the same kind of bulb in an SSL compressor

Replacing light on SSL Compressor Switch

I'd recommend RS @ about 50p - 60p each depending on voltage.

Will these work on an SSL 4K series?
I'm looking for the cut/solo/dim etc lamps.

The ones we have are 36v 20 mA when I checked our spares.
