Eastern Europe Studios

Hey!

Does anyone have any links to good Eastern European studios? I was just looking at this place in Latvia wich looks pretty nice: http://www.sounddivision.lv/en/

I did a search here but couldn't find much. Please redirect me if this has been a topic here before.

Thanks!

Hey,

I see you're from London, why go to eastern europe? Don't you have one of the best studios there?

I can give you the number of a guy who has a small record company. Maybe he can point you out on a studio as well. His name is Zenka. +370 69870077 Hope the number still stands... It's been 2 years since I met him so I don't know how his careeer changed. Anyway, contact him with regards of Lorenzo from belgium, the guy who works with Francis. He'll know who I am then.

Good luck.
Lawrence.

Yeah, I know they cost a fortune. But don't expect the eastern europe ones, those who can match the UK ones will be such a bargain. Been doing business in Lithuania and I ca tell ya, if they can rip you off, they will.

What is it you're looking for? Want to record vocals, or a band with guitars and drummer, what exactly?

Cheers
Lawrence.

I am looking for something in the line of this place:

http://www.sounddivision.lv/en/

And I am really just looking, nothing is written in stone yet...

If we decide for the eastern europe route we will be a bunch of people flying in from both sides of the atlantic, so accommodation will definietly be an issue.

Again, I am just cheking if anyone has some hot tips or links to a website that I can look at. It is to early to start booking or even dealing on this, and when that time comes I will not be the one handeling the subject anyway.

Thanks for all help!

well, I know for one studio in Zagreb/Croatia (since I'm from Zagreb). Guy is very nice and experienced, and he works for many int'l (German, US, Belgian) clients (r'n'b and rap mostly).

He has clean SSL G series console and a bunch of A class gear (Urei comps etc). I think price is Eur 30.- per Hr (but this was negotiable).

http://www.morris-studio.com/ click to 'oprema' to see some of the gear. It is stated that he has E series SSL but this obviously wasn't updated.

Those days of cheap flights from London to Zagreb can save you alot.

I am honestly not affiliated with facility, but I posted this only as info. Moreover, I always thought that London or Stockholm are right place for mixing my pop music

Well if you where, this would certainly be the right thread to try to sell the joint in to a client. No worries.

Anyway, we are looking at this very nice place at the moment http://www.sonorecords.cz

That's funny - I was going to recommend that place to you! Had a great experience recording an album there. This was in 1999, when the place was new (and studio 1 was the only room), so I can't speak as to what it's like there now, but we were very pleased with it at the time...
