Thread Starter | The Crabb Family!!!!!
I was changing channels the other night and came across the beginning of ‘The Grand Ole Opry’. The Crabb Family were opening the show. Jason Crabb is one of the best singers I’ve ever heard….EVER! I was compelled to hear more. Yesterday I bought ‘The Crabb Family – Live At Brooklyn Tabernacle’ DVD. Absolutely insane!!!!!

I am a HUGE southern gospel fan. Never was a fan of Jason Crabb(or the family) but Ihave to tell you that the best group I have ever had the pleasure of hearing(multiple times) is the Gaither Vocal Band... the tenor, David Phelps has vocal chords that sound like they were touched by the creator himself. Seriously..He has an angelic, powerful voice, the best I have EVER heard. Check out Gaither Vocal Bands CDs--Acapella, or Southern Gospel Classics..or their DVD(which really shows David off)I do believe. David Phelps solo CD, Life is a Church is the heat!! Guy Penrod of the same group is also a hero of mine, though being REAL LOW BAss, JD Sumner is my all time Favorite. (RIP JD) Quote:

Coincidentally, the Gaither Vocal Band were on the same show. David Phelps is truly great. But Jason Crabb's power and tone blew me away. He's one of those 'loud' singers (aka James Ingram) who hits high C's with no vibrato, blah, blah.
