Smile SPL Volume 2 vs NHT PVC vs GOLD POINT SA1X

Dear All

I need advice for those Monitor Control.
Which one is better and without L/R stereo image and Hiss Noise Problem?
Is passive really better than Active SPL Volume for Monitorin?

I am thinkin to buy two, one for Benchmark XLR Monitorin and one for the RCA output to Mix Out the Box.
Is it good ideal?

Thanks for help

I use the NHT. No added noise and sounds good.

been using the NHT PVC for about 2 1/2 years now for all my DAW stuff and i have to say that it works brilliantly. I think it's the simplest, best AND the lowest-priced soulution out there.

I too have been using the NHT PVC for about 3 years. Then I switched to the SPL 2380 Surround Controller because I needed Surround Control. Couldn’t hear any differences. Even volume pot positions are exactly that same. Great products.

Used a NHT PVC for years and it worked fine.

Switched to an A Designs Atty2D for the flexibility and extra channels and it also works fine.

The only problem with these passive boxes is that they don't track stereo well when they're turned almost all the way down, so you will want to calibrate your system (power amp or whatever) so that your monitoring volume is well out of that zone- once they're turned up a bit the problem goes away. No big deal really, just the nature of what you're working with and it's a quick fix.

Other than that I don't think you'll have any problems.
