Software synth sounds : Violin like in 'Slave for U' of Britney Spears

Hi,

I'm looking for good patch for Absynth and/or Xpand synths that sounds like the violin in 'Slave For U' of Britney Spears or in 'Candy Shop' of 50 Cents.

If someone had those patches, thanks to share

to me it sounds like a sampled-phrase of real strings, very familiar as well, but I just can't think where it came from....anyone?

cheers, julian

There are some rather famous workstation sounds in the song, like the PipeDreams patch from Korg and this breathy Fairlight sound which appears 10 seconds into the song (it's also in many Yamaha workstations/XG instruments) - do you mean that one?

Those strings sound like bollywood/Indian strings, perhaps from one of those Indian sample CDs. EDIT --- shit, wrong song, sorry --- I meant Toxic

that descending perc sound is eirther 808/909 sub or a tom which has been severely distorted, then filtered to get rid of the top end distortion.

I've got those on my old Ensoniq ASRX, and it has a distortion/speaker emulator FX module I process the 909 "tom" through. >note to self: must...dig...it...out...again<
