MY DRUM SOUND

I just finish recording drum for one song...i am new in this buisines ...i learn from reading forums like this..I buy microphones after reading your posts because in Croatia there is no place where I can hear microphones before buying...
seutup is :

kick AUDIX D6 TL audio EQ2 TUBETECH SMC 2b copressor.....eq +4db over 6k
snare SM 57 TL audio EQ2 .....no eq
Over NEUMANN km 86 X 2 on tl audio c2....eq +3db over 8k
TOM 2 x Md 421..... no eq
ROOM Audio technica at 4033 x 2 in ORTF setup....no eq just hard compession with tl c2
DAW is EMU PARIS 24 bit..44.1 khz
it is allmost dry...
please your opinions...
i read on this forum that most of you dont like TL audio ...bud I dont have others
there is some clips and pics...

I'm not going to get into detail, but overall you have a very clean good quality recording. It's too dry for my tastes as I would like to here more room sound. You seem to have captured all the individual drums very well, but I would of liked to hear the drums as a whole. But this is just my opinion. You do have a great sounding snare for disco though!

Personally, I think the second take has got a much nicer sound.

Sure, you need to get the dry 'close up' sound of the drums, but I suppose the whole reason for room mics is to record the ambience of the room, to help glue those individual drum recordings together.

Is your snare's reverb slightly panned to the left ... or am I hearing things (again)?
