Alternatives to some Waves plugins...

I've been working without Waves plugins for a while now at my home studio (and loving it!) I find myself missing some plugins, tho, and I'm currently searching for alternatives. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives to these Waves plugins:

Super Tap Delay: I'm thinking maybe PSP 608?

Enigma: Been able to get some great effects thru this...Good for "These vocals need something...something a little weird maybe...dunno what tho..."

Doubler: Pretty handy, I've just been using delay and pitch shifting chained together instead, tho, been working out all right.

Avox: ...Just kidding.

Any thoughts? I'm mostly searching for a good multi tap delay plugin, and something that can do the Enigma thing.

I love SoundToys EchoBoy... it's for PT only (TDM, RTAS) though....

Agree, but it doesn't do multitap with individual filters and panning..and lfo's

Yeah, the interface and the functions are what are drawing me to the PSP 608. Looks very versitile and I like the way it's presented. I'll try it out later on today.

I'm running VST and RTAS right now, so options are open.

The ohmboyz vst delay is intriguing. Odd GUI, which I partly blame on the French/English translation thing.

It has 4 'predelays' in parallel (so if you want a direct sound for an Insert effect, you need to use one of these at zero delay - odd).

It has two main delays, with beautiful resonant filters. The great thing is that you can modulate practically any parameter - filters, delay, panning etc. From subtle to extreme - it can do it.

However - my biggest disappointment is that the feedback mode used for the two main delays is odd. You can't, for example, have a singe slap echo by setting the feeback at zero. At zero, you get nothing. Slowing increasing it gives you more repeats, but you can't - for example - get a single slap at the same volume, or at a controllable volume. I guess that's why they added the predelay section, but shesh - what an odd workaround.

The sound quality is tantalising - but I like to work with a delay that lets you set parameters without second guessing the designers.

For that reason i'm looking closely at Sonic Flavours DP5. Not as exciting - but I like the modulation, and you can set parameters quickly and accurately.

Too many VST delays don't allow you to set delays in milliseconds. Sync to host is nice, but it's important to have both options.

The PSP stuff looks interesting, but since they have embraced ilock and shit, I can't support them anymore.

You know you have two GUI's to choose from: classic and funky?
