| cymbal wh0res... what to do? Anyone ever work with someone who just crashes WAYYY too much, WAYYYY too hard? I am working with a group who's drummer is constantly just bashing the 2 crash cymbals (zildjian A's 16 and 18"). The tracks sound great (direct) but I would like to use more overhead and I can't get anything out over the crashing. Are there any tricks you guys use to keep your overhead a little more open without dying of crash cymbal asphyxia? Eq tricks? Thanks in advance -z |

| Move the mics further from the cymbals? Rely more on the close mics? How about compressing the overhead mics pretty deeply to help even out the sound between them (by allowing the drums to come up a bit)? War
