Summing thru RME totalmix?

I hear that it is possible to do OTB thru Fireface??!!
How can I do it?
Is it better than Logic Pro ITB?
I also have old Yamaha 03D mixer. What about that, is it better than Logic?

You can do it through total mix. Assign your outputs in Logic to the seperate analog outs wrather than one stereo buss. Then go into total mix, and choose your stereo buss(which analog output you want to use). Now, the bottom row on the mixer is the submix row(I believe you have to enable it in total mix), select your chosen stereo buss set the fader to unity, and adjust the output faders and pans on the above row(output row). You are now routing those analog outs to your submix output. There ya go. Not really outside the box, but avoids the logic mixbuss. I'm not a logic user and don't use this method personally. You can save scenes in total mix though for recall and all of your automation and plugins in logic will still be valid as they are pre total mix fader. I like the sound of yamaha's digital summing, especially the dm2k. I think they are under rated. Personally, I would get some adat cards for the yamaha and mix that way.

What's wrong with the Logc MixBuss then?

Theory would suggest (and many people reckon) that the numbers will add up the same and it doesnt matter where you add them together.

I, however had my suspicions over the sound of Logic back at 6. It would be interesting to check DAW summing on the exact same mix. If you manage to sort it out post some files.
