DIY HOme Acoustics Tutorial

Not quite sure where to post this, so if I have breached forum rules then pls delete or move.

I recently undertook a home DIY acoustic treatment project to help newbies with their home set ups.

I have not gone into theory or any heavy duty stuff, just kept it simple and hopefully fun.

I hope you enjoy the tutorials.

Parts 1 and 2 are uploaded and Part 3 will be uploaded next week.

Here are some pics of the final room.

Hey man,
What did you put in the panels? Do you have a link to that foam? Did you shoot the room before and after to see how all of it worked out for you?

The bass traps are all rockwool 45kg/^m.

The foam came from RPG here in the UK.

I think it's all there in the tutorial.

We ran the usual room and nodal tests and the design diagram was the result of that, and of course, the ensuing wardrobe butchering.

Glenn, I believe you guys provide foam panels at very good prices?
You have often been recommended in the US forums.

In the UK 703 is expensive so was a non starter in this sub £1000 project.

I must say that I am very impressed with the RPG products and the foam has proved to live up to spec. It has for now with the tests we ran.

We also used corner Blocks 300 x 300 x 300.

Hope that helps.

Oh wow, RPG products rock!

Our panels are made with 8 pound mineral wool with a membrane in them. Our Tri Trap is made with 4 pound mineral wool with a membrane.

Thanks for the kind words and that page is really nice!! Hats off to you sir.

That's pretty cool the way you made the foam crown moulding around the corners.
