SX3 External Instruments

I've got my X5DR and my Proteus 2000 patched in as external instruments in SX3.

I'm finding it a little tricky due to them acting like virtual instruments now. During production I have to use Cuemix DSP to hear them realtime like normal (no external instrument track).

But during mixing I have to add external instrument tracks (and turn the Cuemix tracks down) so they'll pass through the mixer and get rendered with the mix.

Is anyone else using this feature? It's taking me a minute to get accustomed to working this way with midi hardware but it's cool because you can plug your midi hardward directly into the audio device and leave it alone instead of using an external mixer.

During mixing (playback through the external instrument track) SX adjusts for the system latency (you have to set it manually when you first set it up) to keep the tracks in time. I suppose it shifts the midi track back by that amount.

Obviosly it can't to do that in realtime, which is why you'll have to direct monitoring when tracking with an external instrument.
