sharing a name with a porn studio......

so im thinking of a name for my studio and it comes to me
Venom studios
just immedietly clicked with me. i love it. so i type in "venom studios" into google, and ofcourse its taken.....by a BDSM porn studio thing. its, appparently, also copywrited. im not 100% sure what it is, because i dont feel like looking around their website, but i know they arent a sound studio. Now i love the name venom. its perfect for the image i want to throw out there. can i still call it that, even though its totally differient from what they do? do i have to change it so like "Venom Sound" or something?

Wait till you sober up and realize it's kind of a sucky name and then move on to the next, less litigious name.

Hahaha,... a graceful response. Hilarious.

Small alterations are all that's needed to a name, and you'd be surprised how many replicas there are in the world. As long as the businesses themselves aren't in competion (and are small) there's usually no conflict.

But anyways use this one, it's way cooler: The Venom Suite

How do you think I've felt.

We're Big Bang Audio.. Search big bang lots of porn..
But I've had that name before the internet was the internet... If I was smart I should bought some porn .com names...That could have paid for more gear by now.

I know what you're going through.

After I was born and my parents got good look at me, they named me Jeffy Wadd.

A bit of a curse, but damned appropriate.

Wouldn't that constitute a reversal of the norm. Isn't usually the porn industry that changes the legitimate titles? You know Forest Rump, Tyra Banxxx etc....

Anyway I'm just funin' ya....I say if Venom Sound is what you want I doubt anyone would get the two confused. I like the name just fine.

Venom Sound or Venom Studios will be great to bring in the hair & metal bands. Go for it!

How could it NOT be true?

How about Monev? It's Venom backwards and it's one slanted line away from Money.

Exclamation

You've gotta learn to think ahead! That's why I copyrighted "Chocolate Thunder Studios" when I was in 2nd grade.

Yes, they do. Their regular hamburgers are actually
really good. Today is a good day for a chocolate
on chocolate dipped cone with venom...

i'm not a big fan of the word......venom.

Venom Sound is a very cool name, but it's definitely going to affect your bookings. Metal bands all day, all night. All night anyway.

Yeah, like somebody said above, it should be fine if you aren't in competition. Apple just went through a thing like this and won:

One of my buds used to be a house engineer at the Magic Shop in NYC...

http://www.magicshopny.com/

He said they'd get calls ALL day with people looking for trick playing cards, top hats, slight of hand books...

They used to joke & say that if they kept a closet full of magic dust they might make more money with that stuff then real bookings!

LMAO

And yeah...Dairy Queen is alive & well in the states. There's at least a few in MA and a couple three in NJ...I pass one on my way to Shop Rite at least once a week.
