Price on Marshall amp

Is 1,200.00 a good price for a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100 / 1960A Half Stack.It would be 1,275.00 shipped to me.

If you're open to suggestions, why not try a JMP or a JCM800? Call Mike's Music in Cincinnati and ask if they have any JMP's hanging about. I got a 1976 JMP 100w for $600 and they said they had a few more.

Bummer. Are you sold on the 2000 series? I ask because they're not my favorite Marshall, and kind of by a lot.

Not necessarily.I am just looking for that solid rock tone that I know the Marshall's will give.I honestly need a head and cabinet in the 1,200.00 to 1,500.oo range.

I second the JMP recomendation. I think they are a great bang for the buck and are much cooler than most of the new stuff out there.

JCM 2000 sound like A$$ Perhaps the worst amp Marshall has ever made
With the exception of the very very very bad DSL line

get an 800 or a JMP

So what do you really think of this line of amps?
Thanks for the info.Seems as if this would not be a good idea.

I am not a fan of the TSL either...

I own a TSL, a DSL and a Jubilee... The TSL is the worst-sounding of the bunch in my opinion, although it can produce a few cool lead tones, its rhythm tone is just abysmal to my ears.

Hmm- the Mode 4 was worse. BUT indeed the tsl dsl were terrible. 800 was a great amp... I prefer it to my old JMP- the Orange or the Engl are good rock amps as is the Black Cat. For softer try an AC15 or a Fender DeVille- combos I know but if thats OK the other to go with is the Marsh Blues Breaker

I agree completely. I had really high hopes for the 2000's then I heard one, played multiple brands and styles of guitars on it and hated every tone that came out. Spent probably 2 hours trying to make it sound like my Mesa, no luck.
