I generally do some hi pass and lo pass on the reverb send. I find that I often don't want the reverb to have the same "fidelity" as the source. Also, I tend to use a bit of compression after the reverb. |

I am ever since Kiwiburger graciously shared that tip with me. Hopefully I won't have to as much after I replace my NTK with something less sibilant and strident. It helps a lot though. |

I de-ess and compress lightly ... the compression seems to keep the reverb at a nice level when the singer occassionally pushes it a tad too much. jls |

You can also gate your reverb send. Sometimes it´s cool on snare drums... (...no, not the return! I´m talking ´bout the send! )

this looks a lot like my approach as well, except somewhere in there, usually about halfway when the outlines are drawn and it's time to paint the colors, there's a spark, a strange bubbling sound, and a long slow deep exhalation. not long after that, things tend to go from 'excellent' to 'magical.' could just be coincidence. gregoire del ubk | |
