M/S Matrix in Protools

If I record an instrument using M/S. How would I go about setting up a matrix for it in protools.

Thanks

either use the waves m/s plugin on a stero track or have the side mic printing to two tracks, and use the invert audio suit plug in to flip it and you can controll how much mid and side you want at final mix down.

Right.

If you want a more in-depth explanation, the figure-eight mic should come up in two separate mono tracks.

Pan them right and left.

The center mic should, of course, come up mono in the center.

Invert the polarity of one of the channels of the figure-eight mic.

Now you should have a left/right/center stereo image.

Here's a screen shot from Pro Tools of how the three tracks should look.

The center mic is coming in on ADAT-2 and the side (figure-eight) mic is coming in on ADAT-3.
