Thread Starter | Burning master copies to disk
I am recording and mixing a 5 song ep for this band and I need to know what format to use when I burn a master disk for them to have mastered. I am using Logic so when I bounce the songs should I do them at 44.1 and burn a data disk of aiff files or is there a better alternative?

If they already know who is going to master it, ask them. FWIW, I give the band a pre mastered audio cd, just alil limiting, and give the band a data disc with 24bit/44.1 aiff files for whoever will be mastering it. Or sometimes I will wait on giving them a data cd, until they know who is mastering it. Then I will give the mastering guy whatever he wants. sdf |

Yeah the mastering guy may want data files instead of audio files. These days, may prefer that you upload to an FTP, to be sure they are getting things exactly as you made them.
