Paul Simon's New Album

Me likey.

It sort of grew on me this week. Especially tracks 2 and 4 (Everything About It Is A Love Song & Sure Don't Feel Like Love) I had no idea who was behind it with him, but after a couple listens I could hear Tchad Blake in there - and I was right stike . I fuggin' love that guy! (The Bad Plus killed me for a few months)

Anyway, give it a listen. He's got Brian Eno in the studio, Steve Gadd on drums again(whoever that is)

I don't want to get too specific, but pop that second song on and listen carefully at 1:28 with your speakers very high. Now THAT is the shiat.

VERY cool. I love Paul Simon but his last one was not doing much for me.

i wanted to like this one, but after a few listenings it didn't get any better for me.
the pairing of simon and eno doesn't work on any level. simon's just singing his thing without really paying attention to the stuff eno did. it's like two different records playing together. i bought it just to hear what a guy like eno (genius) would do when asked to basically produce paul simon (genius). good lessons to be learned, but not much enjoyment from listening.
oh well.

I bought my wife the cd for her birthday and it's still not hitting me. Maybe this week I'll take it out into the studio and hear it in all it's glory.

Unfortunately, I still miss the whole Simon & Garfunkel thing.
