A-Designs nail for 2buss only or?

aside from buss duties, do you find the nail a good choice for individual tracks, eg vocals, instruments? especially compared to the usual suspects 1176, la2a style etc.
Does it shine in other circumstances and how well, because I am curious about picking one up and hope it can multi task when not on the stereo buss.

tnx

We use ours for a number of things including keys (synths, piano); ocassionally acoustic gtr; I don't usually use it on vox but I would think it could work nicely if you're careful to get the 'hard' threshold setting right.

I happen to find the nail very flexible and especially responsive to attack & release settings- but you do have to get a feel for the hard threshold settings.

It's a great sounding comp.

It's not that you can't use the Nail on anything other than the 2 buss. It's just that it shines so much on the 2 buss that you don't want to take it off. The truth is... you can use the Nail compressor on any and everything.

The NAIL is exceptionally good in general, it's not just a mix buss compressor...although it was mainly marketed that way it seems.

Thanks guys

I suspected as much where I did a lot of reading through older threads. Just wanted a heads up in 2012 as the dust has settled.
Gimme a nail please.
