Fronier design Tranzport repairs

Hey,

My Tranzport had been working fine then all the lights started flashing and it died. I replaced batteries: no good. I opened it up and noticed a little corrosion under one of the battery grounding plates the free one that is not wired to anything.

I contacted Frontier Design and they said they could fix it about $50 all in. I asked if they were just exchanging the little plate and if so could they just mail it ? No answer !

It would be nice to get it working but I don't think its even worth $50 bucks or I could invest the same money in a used ipad 2 ?

I like the tranzport but. Wondering what others would do ?

Thx kcat

...if you're in the states, take it to Radio Shack and see if any of their battery connectors can be used/modified to replace the contact that's corroding...

DeoxIT if you have any for starters. Then I would look through my gear to see if I could bastardize any similar part from a dead pedal, tuner or other battery using apparatus. Maybe even use a glob of solder?
