Bad potentiometers on microKORG?

I have a microKORG that I bought used of someone at my school. I noticed that there is static when the volume knob is turned, sort of a crackling. I wouldn't have brought it up because I figured it was just isolated to my case, but I went to GC and was playing one and I noticed its volume did the same thing. Is this a known issue with them or is it just coincidence?

Thanks
