Using a Sub with ADAM A7x's

Hi, does anyone here use a sub with their a7x's and if so, which one. I checked ADAM's website and they don't offer any advice in this department. I really like the A7x's and do not want to sacrifice their clarity for the a8x's. Besides, I would feel more comfortable with a dedicated sub handling the low end. I do mostly EDM and Hip Hop so accurate low end is key. Thanks

Tried them with a cheap m-audio one when the acoustician was there measuring. I got a really acurate frequency response. Just make sure to get one that doesn't send the original signal back to your Adam's if you decide to set the filter quite high. In that case both the sub and the Adams will put out eg 100 Hz.

thanks, I'm not surprised you got a good freq response with a cheap sub. I never understood what makes a 1 sub worth 10 times more than another. @ such low freqs what is the advantage???

The same reason one monitor is worth 10 times more than another.

I use a Tannoy TS10 with my A7's. It's a good setup. The A7's tend to grind a bit when pushed, so a sub with a crossover helps to take some of the work out of the bottom octave.

I use a KRK 10s with a footswitch with my Adams. I usually solo it and get all my low end sub frequencies to play nice together then kick it in/out with the footswitch while I'm mixing.

Thanks I'm leaning toward a TS10 at this point. I keep hearing good reviews and the price is right

The Adam Sub 8 or Sub 7 would be your best options allong side the A7X.

Different story with the A7X (They have far greater output which stay's clean at high output levels)

Sub 7 can be switched out with a footswitch so you check how your A7x's sound handling the full range, Sub 8 doesn't have that for some reason. I have a Sub 7, used to use it w/ my A7's, now w/ my Adam S2x's.

Is there a smart way to adjust the A7's to not overlap frequencies with the Sub 7? I've had the Sub 7 in its box for a year now but I figured it's time to test it.
