Allen & Heath GSR Firmware Update - HUI Support!

Decided to finally get my R16 setup with the MIDI translator to control Pro Tools and stumbled across this:

ALLEN & HEATH RELEASES NEW GS-R24 FIRMWARE WITH HUI SUPPORT | ALLEN & HEATH // WORLD CLASS MIXING

?HUI, which synchronises DAW software and connected hardware devices, is now emulated by three virtual MIDI ports in the GS-R24’s new firmware, tunnelled over the mixer’s FireWire connection. This means that for GS-R24M mixers equipped with the FireWire interface, a third party translator is no longer essential.

A new set of DAW Resource Packs is also available online, with step-by-step instructions and template projects to aid the set-up of popular recording software.

I wonder if they're going to do a similar update to the R16 for poor people like me?

yup. happen the same thing to me right now. I got a R16 couple of weeks ago adn now I tried BOME Trial and bought the official pro version for work with the R16 and PT. then I stomped on that news...

So... I seems to recall that now gsr24 and r16 share the same driver so.. maybe we can use this update for our R16, can we? and what would happen for midi? I have bome anyway.. but any progress would be appreciated, epecially easier midi customization.

any A&H people reading? (mike?)

by the way: I got if working with a GSR24 template from a gearslutz user and some tweaking.. I just miss a bit more customization in bome for the R16 buttons and enconders..

thanks, bye
