Thread Starter | Help Installing Sonex
I would like some suggestions for adhesive to install Studio Foam. I realise I could order manufacture suggested products, but don't really want to wait for an order. Are there any products at a big box home improvement or craft store that may work? I have heard of things like Liquid Nails "Eating Foam". I don't want my foam to be eaten. Spray and Caulk type suggestions greatly appreciated. |

I had some pretty good luck with a hot glue gun, putting sonex up on the walls & ceiling. BUT: a. You need to work fast and get it in place before the glue cools (ten seconds, tops) b. You also need to hold the foam in place for thirty seconds or so until it sets, and c. It's a fairly permanent process adhesive, so if you ever plan on NOT having sonex on your wall, you probably want to look into other options. The larger (diameter) the glue stick, the better. Good luck... |

I saw a studio where they put it up with pins, that way they didn't ruin the foam with glue and if they had to take it down and reuse it soemwhere else they could. Just a suggestion BTW the studio went out of business and my friend ended up buying the foam which worked out for him |

Thank you for the great suggestions. My plan was to attach cardboard strips to the walls and ceiling with staples. Then use a good adhesive to attach the panels to the strips. This would eliminate glue residue if I took the panels down, and make for a solid installation. My hang up is this "Foam Eating Glue" or something that will fail in two months. Maybe Shandy's hot glue suggestion. |

Yeah, I suppose I should add that I put the sonex up about a year ago, and nothing has fallen or been eaten. Okay, I tasted the glue a little bit, because it was warm and looked like honey. Didn't taste like honey. Other than that, nothing has been eaten. |

Screw it ......... That's what I do with some little washers so the screws don't go all the way through. I need to be able to take it with me .Looks fine. Good luck ! |
