The GREAT Microphone Import!

Encouraged by the success of an earlier buy, folks over on homerecording.com are organizing to do a second group mic buy. I offered to help organize this and let others know about it.

A private and moderated Yahoo! groups space has been set up for this project and you are invited to join:

This was nessessary so that models and pricing can be discussed. Previous group buy organizers had trouble with name brand microphone companies and / or the microphone vendor because pricing was dissussed in public forums such as this. The organizers of this new group buy have either experienced these problems themselves or have followed the saga of others. The principle organizer of this group buy (not me, I'm just the bucket boy on this) has a very good relationship with the vendor so I have every reason to beleive this group buy will be a success.

96 group members as of this morning. About 18 product catalog pages to look at. And a polling feature with about 25 products to indicate your potential interest in. Oh, and this is a volunteer, not-for-profit project.

We are at 220 members, and over 100 msgs, so when you sign up, be sure and log into the web site, and read all the emails 'manually', so you can 'catch up' on all the info.
Lots of folks are asking the same questions over and over...just scan the msgs, look at the catalog in the files area, check out the pics in the photo section, and please DON'T drool!

Also, if you know of any other Gear Heads, and fellow mic freaks on other forums, be sure and invite them to join us. The more we get, the higher volume our order will be, and the cheaper our individual prices are!

MORE MICS, yeah...I can NEVER have enough...

...almost like Beer, Money, Women, and yeah...outboard gear!

In case you missed this thread we now have almost 300 members, very good volume of interest shown in the product polls, (which means good pricing leverage) and a new FAQ that will get you up to speed quickly...

...and who knows, perhaps a visit by the man who kicked this all off - Chance Pataki!

People are starting to wonder when the ordering close date will be. Lets get the word out a bit more and work toward moving this along.

And if it goes as smooth as our did goes, you will be happy,

And by the way the mic sound pretty cool with some minor mod,
for the $$$$$$$. hard to beat.
