Roland System 100M Any good?

Have seen them in the web but don't have a chance to work with. How does it sound? What kind of cable to patch Is that Mini phone jack?

Yep, It uses 1/8" (3.5mm) cables.
I like the System 100m a lot. It's a little limited compared to some modern modular systems in its feature set... there aren't a lot of weirdo modules and there's no multimode filter in the system. But if you like the old Roland sound and want a bit more flexibility in the routing and patching, it's a good choice. The modules are fairly feature-laden, with attenuators and mixers built into each module and multiples and bussing built into the case.
I'm a fan.
*But* for the price you could pick up an SH5, which has a bit more going for it than the basic 100m system and is pretty damn flexible itself. And one of the fattest, rawest synths I've ever heard.
And of course the 2 complement each other well and play very nicely together...

I used to have a couple of cabinets of System 100m myself and I liked them. Having mixers and attenuators integrated with the modules is something I really miss on other modulars. It sounds really good as well, but I really recommend getting more than just the standard D-set (112, 121, 130, 140, 150, 191J). The real fun starts with the additional modules.

On the downside I find them a little bit to small. I sometimes felt that I should have had the hands of a five-year-old instead. The filter surely isn't the most versatile I've heard and I'm not really a big fan of minijacks. But still, it's a nice and compact synth and you can have a lot of fun with it. :)

I just pick it man .... The unit is in mint condition up Can't pass it on. The problem is....I buy them with out testing. No cable to put into those jack. I try to find the dealer or shop who make high quality cable but no luck. Any body can recommend?
By the way.... where I can get more info about this unit in the web.

Thanks in advance

You can get pacth cables at CPC, RS and Maplins.

I have a ton of them , still in the plastic unused.

I used them with my System 100 and Arp 2600.

Have a look at the above companies. They have loads.

The quality of the stuff from Roland from that time is excellent so if it really looks mint I'd say thereäs a big chance that there are no major faults, but either way you could let a good tech have a look at it and do some calibration and stuff.

This is the best System 100m site I know of:

http://www.analoghell.com/studio/index.cfm?fuse=100m

The cable on the back is a regular 8-pin DIN-cable. It shouldn't be too hard finding one of these if you have adequate Google skills. ;)

Which modules are in it and how much have you paid for it? I'm interested in getting one for quite some time.

Now that you've had it for a few days, what are the impressions, any disappointments?

Still don't have time to play with that unit so.... I don't know how it sound.
Right now I can find just only 4 cables (old one) to patch in. I'm still looking for a good cable.
