I made an Obsidian 500 recall sheet

Hey all -

I needed a recall sheet for the Obsidian 500 series. I like using recall sheets and find it more intuitive to use them regardless of how easy the gear is to recall!

I couldn't find one on the internet. I couldn't find one on the Dramastic website. I emailed John from Dramastic asking him for one but he never responded.

When you can't find a recall sheet and the gear designer can't be bothered to print you out a PDF of his faceplate layout, what do I do?

I made my own!

So here it is since I think that if I was looking for it, there must be other slutz who would want it!

Anyway, here it is. Enjoy slutz!

Regards,
Frank

Never listen to opinions regarding gear. For every 50 nobodies on Gearslutz that say a piece of gear doesn't sound good enough to cut it, I know at least one somebody who is cutting it in NYC with that piece of gear.

Thank you!

Cheu

P.S.: you should do also the one for the 19" version...

Cheu,

Ask and ye shall receive! It wasn't a big deal to move the stuff around and make a 19" version - So I threw one together for you!

There's two versions - One is regular and one is marked "Short".

After I printed it out as a test, I noticed that trying to fit a 19" rack on a piece of letter sized paper, even at landscape, doesn't leave a lot of room for the size of the unit.

I'm a bit of a purist so the regular recall sheet has the logos and the power switch. The "short" version eliminates the logos so I can stretch the main part bigger making it a bigger rack so it's easier to read the knobs. I included both here so you can use the one that fits your degree of OCD!

I also don't own an Obsidian rack so I did this from a product shot from the website so it might not be accurate to the inch. I own the 500 series so I measured everything out as I worked! Hahaha

Regards,
Frank

You're very welcome Cheu! As much as I love swiss chocolate, it's really not necessary! You're one of the few people on Gearslutz who always give advice and your experiences with gear. Consider this a thank you for always being generous with your opinions and your advice on gear. I've read plenty of your posts in the past when considering gear to purchase.

Thank you!

Regards,
Frank
