Tascam DV-RA1000 SDRAM Error!

My DV-RA1000 is not working, when I turn it on it shows SDRAM Initialize error and then it stays forever. even the DVD tray is not opening.

is there any option to reset it back to factory settings? or is it some serious problem that needs hardware surgery?

Can you access the MENU using the button?

Press and hold the OPEN/CLOSE (SHUT DOWN) key for at least 30 seconds and see if the UDFMI feature appears.

Any luck using the remote?

Also, if there is a disc in the try stick a paper clip in to the tiny hole to open the thing up. You need to manually open the spring loaded tray cover.

I tried holding SHUTDOWN key but nothing happened. As I turn on my Tascam it gives a blank screen for a minute or half and then shows the SDRAM error message. no buttons are working and no lights are blinking its just dead with an error message on it.

I have never opened mine, but I wonder if the SDRAM chip is the plug in type and may be loose?
