A few higher profile P22A owners include Malcolm Toft, CCRMA/Music @ Stanford University (two pairs), and John McBride's facility - Blackbird Recording in Nashville (three pairs). dB ADAM Audio USA |

malice> well, Carloff is my friend... but, this thread is somewhat discussion-less. The question is very general, saying nothing... ...his opinion we can argue with or why is he asking. ... that's why fletcher responded like he did (i think). |

He probably doesn't state his opinion because he doesn't have one, and that's probably the reason he started the thread (he wants to hear some varying opinions before deciding whether or not to go out of his way to try the speakers). I think this is very common and while not often really thought provoking, is still valid. Malice, I agree that this place is getting more and more hostile. I really hope the cools down- this is one of the very few informative yet relatively objective and non-personal forums I've found. Both famous pros and hobbyists can post here without anyone ever feeling as though there are cliques or an unspoken hierarchy. I hope that tone continues to stay the same. |

Matucha, It was not negative anyway : 1) PSW is my second home as everybody being there for more than ten minutes might have figured. 2) At some point, and I mean the point where we are talking about a certain quality of monitors, I think every discussion is highly subjective. As soon as you find yourself with a good pair of monitors (like adams seem to be), it's mostly a matter of getting use to them. At least it is what I think. Anyway, always curious to listen to new system, and I never tried ADAMS yet ![]() malice |

Nevertheless, I think this place is complementary to PSW, I also hope it stay the same, as hostility is not fiting the place. Haaaa, may be I take all that too seriously malice | |

1) PSW is very funny sometimes... sometimes informative, but gearslutz has the ratio more on the informative side... that's good I think. Teasing someone is a good thing sometimes, he's not a begginer so it is good to show some sarcasm. 2) Yep, most of the gear we discuss here is very subjective... I heard P11 and P22 only shortly (1 minute or so) because I wanted to hear S3As ;-). Had to go abroad to Germany hear it ;-(. Hostility> I read the thread where the BombGuy was... well... ****ed?... that was way way over the edge, I don't pretend it wasn't funny sometimes, but surely over the top. Hope that nothing like this can happen here. Malice I really wellcome your opinion at chrismilne's UAD forum, beacuse it is fresh air of (kind of) reality. Esp. on DreamVerb... Haven't heard any adams or just P11(22)? I'm curious about these small ones in comparison to Events, Tannoy Reveal etc. There are lot of people he asking me about budget monitors (mostly under $700 active) and I can't say "wait a bit and buy P11 for ex". They mostly end with Behringer Truth ... concerned about the bottom, not about the whole sound.

no blood ;-), from my view, I'd expect P22 to have worse mids because of larger cone, but who knows... who knows?

I love my P22s. My experience includes: Genelec 1030,31,29 Dyna BM6 NS10 Monitor ones <-- YIKES! The 22s are my favorite of all mentioned for what I do. They have relly allowed me to speed up mic placement and all the stuff I used NS10s for during mix. The mids mainly. My mixes got "there" faster. Not to say I mix faster, I just get to the details quicker. The first thing I did when I got them was to bounce everything I was working on as the 1029 had got me and then remix with the 22s. I was able to make massive changes right off the bat and thing I had missed with the 1029s were real obvious. I still have yet to not be impressed when I hear my stuff in the car, house or another system. With the Gennies it was always listen then go back and adjust. Of the 8 finals I have done on the ADAMs I have yet to not be please with the ability of my mixes to move between systems and not have something JUMP out. I have never had a speaker that worked like that for me. These speakers have also change my perception of many of my fav cds. I had to throw out the Foo Fighters cd with the ray gun on the cover. OUCH! It sounds awful to me. Lastly, With these speakers they would have never let Gadd get away with dropping that stick. It jumps off these things. And the thread lives on. If you buy these use Fletcher. I used Nathan but, talked both of these guys ears off. You could help me pay my "Fletcher Karma". D |
