Who Says Dynamics Are Dead Just a Happy Observation. The song "lost" on the current Cure CD, "The Cure" is Literally musically the same 2 bars for the entire 4minutes and 7 seconds. It's the dynamics of the players, the building of the drums, the guitars become more aggressive, both part wise and playing wise. More Layers are added, but really, it's the same instruments and same 2 bars! I guess we can thank mastering and Mixing for also not ruining the spirit of the song. Anyway, even if you aren't a cure fan, check this out, I knew I really liked this song and just got around to analyzing it tonight and thought it was quite clever to build a song exclusively by dynamics rather than parts(although the drummer obviously performs several different parts)

That's a great record. Sometimes Cure songs don't have verses or choruses and you don't notice until you think about it. I was surprised that they picked Ross Robinson to do that one, but I think the result is very good.

That's a fabulous song on a great record - both of which got me excited about the Cure again for the first time in many years. I'll have to listen to that track when I get home tonight. ![]()
