Has anyone heard of company 'Modular Acoustics' for bass traps, etc.??

Friend referred me to this link that he said he found through TapeOp-

http://modularacoustics.com/

Looks like they make traps and absorbers and the prices look hella cheap!!

Anyone done business with them or have any comments? Looks like these panels are a pretty good deal....

But the GIK panels are $60 for the 4inch and $50 for the 2 inch. These guys want $110 for an almost 4 inch panel. how is this "hella cheap"?

And GIK has had their absorptive material independently tested (at the behest of Recording.org Acoustics & Design forum members) and posted the results for all to see.

I'm not hating on Modular Acoustics. Ethan Weiner's Realtraps are more expensive too.

I am not affiliated with GIK in any way. In fact I built my own panels with forum help from Ethan..

The $110 ones are the ones made with real wood frames.

If you look at their "TeaBagz" they are 24"x48"x4" thick and $65 each, and seems to be the same thing as the GIK 244 traps for $5 more.

The GIK ones maybe more cosmetically pleasing though...

In my experience but also very biased opinion I guess, the GIK stuff is worth way more than the asking price. They make a big difference, and happen to look very attractive and are built solid.
