IS PT the only DAW that allow multi mono plugs

I am wondering this as i have been trying a few other DAWS and i dont know if they allow the use of multimono plugs on the mix buss.

Samplitude for example.

If i wanted a plug on the mix buss in multi mono how do you go about this?

Cheers

Can't you split a stereo track into two mono tracks and then put mono plugins on the two mono tracks?

Multi mono works in PT. Some plug ins are ONLY multi mono and dont have stereo versions..

Well, URS EQ's are only multiple-mono, rather than stereo.

So in the session I have open right now, I inactivated the stereo master fader. Then I created two mono master faders. And my computer caught on fire.

No, actually, I routed the outputs to my Rosetta 800 as before, but instead of selecting ADAT 1-2 as the output, I selected ADAT 1 on one master and ADAT 2 on the other.

Is that what you mean? Maybe you already know that.

I was under the assumption that you could only have one active master fader.

So i can create 2 mono master faders to do this?

This means twice as many plugs.

But does that mean twice as much power?

Thanks for your help max.

In Digital Performer, one could create 2 busses with mono ins and outs and use them as "pre-master faders" and then send them to the true stereo master fader.

You can do 5.1 mixes in PTLE this way.

Left
Center
Right
Right Rear
Left Rear
LFE

It'd be a huge PITA, though, since you'd have to control the spatial placement with busses. I think it would make me crazy.

I think most RTAS plugins take the same power for two mono as one stereo.

UAD, for example, takes the same processing power for one mono as one stereo, but they're in the business of selling DSP cards, so it makes sense.
