I use the Nashville kit on ED, quick and sound good.

Yeah, I got one, but it might not be the one you're after.

At the risk of getting shot, I'd say the best drum samples for country music would be no drum samples.

It is a sincere answer to the question BTW as well as an opinion.

Guess I'm old fashioned that way.

Maybe he's referring to drum programming?

To the OP: If you're referring to drum programming and/or using a drum VI, I'd go with the Music City expansion pack for Superior Drummer. The drums are absolutely fantastic.

I do primarily country and Texas-Americana type stuff. I record live drums most of the time but I do occasionally use samples for replacement and blending-augmentation. And I also from time to time use total midi drums from the ground up for a project.

I have the Slate samples, and yes I would agree they are good but they are usually too processed for me and what I do. I prefer stuff that is a little more raw and organic to begin with, so I can mangle them myself

I have the Toontrack Avatar, Allaire, and the Nashville EZX. Out of those three I usually go with the Avatar, but I will a lot of times pull in X-drums from the other libraries. But I generally find the Avatar set to be the closest to what I am looking for.

Several years ago I bought some great kit samples from Andy Reilly, and I go to them sometimes for rootsy stuff. Andy has some newer offerings but I'm not sure what remains from the old sets, and what is brand new......
