Uploading audio to YouTube, conversion process, sample rate & depth, etc?

I'm wondering if you should upload a high res audio sample to YouTube (like 96k 24b) and let them do the conversion, or a low res like 44.1k 16b mp3 and then have them do the compression / conversion... anyone know more about this?

I remember putting a demo on YouTube to promote some of my music, but the end result (sound wise) was crackly and compressed.

The option was to use a high definition video (for a single picture) and upload 1GB per song (for 5 minutes) to make the music sound worthwhile.

Unfortunately, the sound quality wasn't 100% in the end, but still okay.

YouTube hasn't been the best for audio; maybe use some fancy software like the YT pros to convert sound quality? I wouldn't know any names, but at least some direction to get you started.

youtube has some kind of inbuilt compressor. that sometimes messes ur audio up..

and it uses 320 kbits audio.

so if u want the best audio id recommend doing HD videos for your music.

96 K is overkill for youtube....
