Portico 5012 vs Vintech 273

In the same boat. Luv my Portico 5012 but looking for another dual mic Pre to add to the palette. Anyone chime in?

My memory of comparing them is that I preferred the Portico for its smoother, more transparent, less distorted sibilance. The Portico stuff is primo IMHO.

Both great of course and on the same quality level IMO. Vintech has more coloration when pushed and even when not pushed (thick low mids but with quite a bit of presence and air). The 5012 is more neutral in comparison and maybe a bit 'smoother' (whatever that means). They are definitely complementary even though they both come from Neev.
