Creating a custom mic stand, need advice for the base.

Hey everyone. I am creating a custom mic stand for a band out here in Dallas. It's a Bon Jovi replica. It seems easy enough, but I have run into a little snag, the base. The rest of the mic stand will be a uni, fixed design with a pool cue break down. I've thought of a few ideas for the base (Bon Jovi's is a 1970s chair base... AWESOME!), such as using shelf brackets (12 inches) and the mounts like the ones you see at stores. The problem, I don't think that will fit around a 3/4" pipe. And if I do get it to fit, they won't come off. I need the entire stand to break down as I will also be creating a custom case for it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks SO much for any tips! This is a gift and I'd like to have it made sooner than later, so simple suggestions are best!!
