Thread Starter | DOLBY B I read last nite in the latest issue of eqmagazine that there is something magical about recording a vocal through a unit with DOLBY "B" Is this true? They said these units are now cheap , what kind of unitwould you get, and how would you actually put it into your vocal chain, since I am thinking they are refering to old tape cassette decks. ![]() |

| If it is about the Dolby B I know from consumer units ( guess rather not though ) then there would to be expected quite a dully mud. Most terrible filter system ever made, at least in my ears. Greets, Ruphus

| Had to be a Dolby A mod that was popular back in the day. You would run it off a buss and in parallel with the main vocal chain. The effect is like an exciter. The boards were normally sprayed with blac paint to make diffcult to find the mod. Works on acoustic guitar as well.
