Fireface Clock Sync Question...

Hey all,

Lets say you're clocking a fireface externally via the word clock BNC, and then you plug your DA into the S/PDIF out on the fireface. Let's say your DA syncs to the word clock that's fed from S/PDIF. Is the clocking that's sent out of the fireface via the S/PDIF the same that is being fed from the external word clock via BNC?

That was a horrible way to put it. Basically, if the fireface is clocking externally, does it also pass on that external clocking through the S/PDIF outs?

I couldn't imagine that it wouldn't, but I thought I'd better double check.
