C'mon spill the beans! Get your 80's soul hat on and feel the groove. i love this track!

Does anyone know who played bass on their stuff?

Solar Records seemed to have a bit of a house rhythm section, certainly a house sound. Leon Sylvers III produced the Shalamar records for Solar, plus he was a bass player. So I'm guessing it might have been him. I doubt it was Bernard Edwards.

Great stuff.. thanks for that. I found something on artistdirect.com which seems to bear out what you're saying, although interestingly James Ingram is also credited with bass duties

I toured with them a couple of years back on drums.
Great tunes!!

And I have to say that Howard has one of the very best voices I've ever worked with.
And Jeffrey..... what an unbelievably nice guy.... and a great dancer!

I had lots of fun!

I have no idea who played bass on the originals though. It would surprise me if it was Bernard..... similar but not the same.....
