Easier way to turn off sub woofer for night sessions

my studio is in my basement and I have lame neighbors that need sleep so they need me to turn off my sub at night. I have a JBL LSR 2310 sub woofer and JBL LSR 2325 monitors. I have to go behind my setup to put the volume down on my subwoofer which is very tedious. I can't just plug the sub into a separate surge because the monitors are dependent on the sub so when it's off, it cuts off the connection. I also have a big knob and i connected the sub and monitors on it's own monitor selection but the monitors are outputting low end so when I put the sub on with it, it just sounds super bassy!!! Is a cross over the only way? I also have a control 24. Does it have a cross over in it?

Someone please help!

Yes the sub has a crossover built-in which is why you're getting the super bass problem when the mains and sub are running out of different paths on the big knob.

Some subs have a footswitch or other temporary drop out but this is not one them sadface.

what if you engaged a hi-pass before you go out to the monitors? i.e. on the stereo out buss? like at 100hz?

I know it sounds hack but its the only thing I can think of given your situation.
